We Dwell in the Secret Place

We Dwell in the Secret Place by Colonel Pepper

We were homeless when we got here; we were not homeless for too long
For the angels that surround us kept us going ever strong
Amidst the hatred of our neighbors who have done my loved ones wrong
Yet the memory of their wickedness just dissipates into a song

We will dwell in the secret place beneath the feathers of His wings
Under the shadow of the Almighty we will abide as refugees
And you will know the Lords our fortress mighty angels care for us
In our homes and in our strongholds in God’s love were strong and bold

Our eyes alone will soon behold all the wicked's just reward
As we trample on the dragon and the lions young and old
And never shall we fear or sweat the terror of the night
Or the arrows of the day as they pass us in swift flight
Nor the pestilence of that walks amidst the darkness of the night
Or destruction of the cities they have wasted in daylight
We will dwell in the secret place beneath the feathers of His wings
Under the shadow of the Almighty we will abide as refugees

We will dwell in the secret place beneath the feathers of His wings
Under the shadow of the Almighty we will abide as refugees
And you will know the Lords our fortress mighty angels care for us
In our homes and in our strongholds in God’s love were strong and bold

And you will know the Lords our fortress mighty angels care for us
In our homes and in our strongholds in God’s love were strong and bold
My life will surely be eternal my salvation is assured
I am covered by His feathers not an angel’s or a bird
For it is God who is my fortress and yes he shelters me
Because in troubled times I call on Him and then He answers me.

We will dwell in the secret place beneath the feathers of His wings
Under the shadow of the Almighty we will abide as refugees
And you will know the Lords our fortress mighty angels care for us
In our homes and in our strongholds in God’s love were strong and bold

I will say unto the Lord He is my refuge and my God
My shield, my sword, my buckler, the Almighty is my rod
And a thousand to my side shall fall ten thousand to my right
No evil will befall me the Almighty is my might
Lest I dash my foot upon a stone and stumble in his sight
Or step into the fowler’s snare that can never hold me tight

We will dwell in the secret place, beneath the feathers of His wings
Under the shadow of the Almighty we shall abide as refugees
And you will know the Lord is our stronghold, mighty angels care for us
In our homes and in our strongholds in God’s love were strong and bold
